Chemical
Industries (Malaya) Sdn Bhd (CIM) was incorporated
on 31st March 1960 and commenced production
in 1962. With a paid-up capital of RM 12.306
million, the company manufactures and markets
ethyl alcohol (denatured and undenatured). Being
the first ethanol manufacturer in Malaysia, the
company has grown from strength to strength and
our manufacturing facilities have been upgraded
and greatly improved.
Today, the annual production stands at 9 million
litres comprising a range of comprehensive ethanol
products from 96% to absolute alcohol.

Brief
Ethanol
or ethyl alcohol, CH3CH2OH is one of the most
versatile oxygen-containing organic chemicals
because of its unique combination of properties
as a solvent, a germicide, a beverage, an antifreeze,
a fuel, a depressant and especially as a chemical
intermediate for other organic chemicals. CIM’s
products are widely used in the pharmaceutical,
winery, perfumery, printing and paint industries
and also for industrial spirits.
To satisfy the needs of CIM’s
customers, our products conform to the British
Pharmacopoeia
(BP) Standards. We were also awarded the appreciation
for compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice
Standards and Customer Service for Raw Material
Supplied by a world class multinational pharmaceutical
company.
CIM’s other products include
Liquefied Carbon Dioxide and Kaoliang Wine.
The liquefied
CO2 is being used for industrial use and to produce
soft drinks. The Kaoliang Wine is for liquor
blending, drinking on its own and also for the
production of cooking wine.

customers cover a wide range of local and
world class multinational pharmaceutical
companies, wine and beverage bottlers, paint
and consumable products manufacturers and
industrial usages. 70% of our products go
to the local market and 30% is allocated
for exports.
